SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

tumbleweed

Looks quiet today. Thought I'd take the opportunity to say I'm not out. Anyone else not out?

Re: tumbleweed

I was planning to be not not out (if that makes sense), so if anyone's up for a ride I'm keen.

Re: tumbleweed

I am planning to drive to the pub and meet you all there owing to injury. Could someone text me please if pub changes 07837873804 ?

Re: tumbleweed

I'm planning to be out, again, though Claire might warn you against counting on that.

Re: tumbleweed

Cracking on with paperwork tonight so I can have a ride in the sun tomorrow.
So I'm not not not out !?!

Re: tumbleweed

Bugger, sorry Riaan, when I left work no one had posted so have been for a quick ride and have other plans now- sorry!

Re: tumbleweed

No worries! My MTB shoes are MIA anyway...

Re: tumbleweed

I'll just do the Roman Road, and I'll stop at the Pear Tree if somebody texts me, and it's open...

I'll have my 'off-bike', 0788 phone with me. (Check contact list emailed out for details...)

Re: tumbleweed

I wasn't out tonight either. (Confined to Barracks) Was going to post to advise early arrival at the ancient shepherds as they are known to close well early if no trade. But Riaan heading for the Pear Tree? Thought that closed ages ago?

Re: tumbleweed

I've heard they do very nice Burmese teak furniture....not sure about the pear bit.
