SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Blue Lion - Hardwick

let me open the thread today by saying i dont think i will make it out tonight, but in the interest of keeping up the activity on the forum -
anyone else out tonight?

Re: Blue Lion - Hardwick

Hi All,

Planning to ride, although the weather forecast is not good to begin with.

It's Bonfire Night also - traffic could be bad for those few like me who drive in.

Re: Blue Lion - Hardwick

now correct me if i'm wrong, but you will be bringing a bike with you (all of it unless you are Dom), surely traffic wont be a problem, park further out

Re: Blue Lion - Hardwick

Genius, blardy Genius!
Come on Pastey baby, you know that didn't cross your mind

Hope to be out tonight, all depends what time er out doors gets back from the wilds of Lincolnshire. Will call you if I'm running late and rendezvous en route.

Re: Blue Lion - Hardwick

Pat - sharp as ever, even though you, spelling and punctuation a mere strangers taking different paths through life.

I'll park in Hardwick if I have to.

Duncan - message received and understood. If it's gushing down or ultra sloppy off-road we can do the time honoured thing and go on-road for part of it.
