SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

The George, Babraham

Can we change the pub on tomorrow ride, as last time we went to The George we could not buy any snacks (oink oink yum yum).

I was thinking of a following route
Roman Road, Babraham Hall Woods, Rowley Lane, Stapleford, Gt Shelford, Hauxton, Byron Pool then the Green Man Grantchester.

If someone got any other idea of a route and need to finish in the Babraham area, then we could pedal off ot The Three Horseshoes at Stapleford

Re: The George, Babraham

Yep, I am OK with that

Re: The George, Babraham

suits me. Might even be out...

Re: The George, Babraham

Hi Jon,
I should be out tonight.

Are there any good route wizards out there that could think of a slightly different route as this is my commute to work most days & the last three times I have been out with Cammtb we have ridden this route.

Cheers
Geordynige

Re: The George, Babraham

I shall also be joining - 2nd ride with the group :-)

Is there a facebook group for CAMMTB also? had a quick search but no joy.

Thanks,

Adrian

Re: The George, Babraham

Yep, I'm out. Stapleford good to me

Re: The George, Babraham

I'm planning to ride, Stapleford sounds good if Babraham ruled out. Could stay on Roman Rd to Hildersham and then Abington etc.

Re: The George, Babraham

Phew, epic (ish) ride, and even got the mud washed off the bike on the way home! Hope all others returned safely.

Re: The George, Babraham
