DISCLAIMER. MOUNTAIN BIKING CAN BE DANGEROUS. YOU JOIN US AT YOUR OWN RISK.

SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Thank you!

Hi all you bunch of crazy people,

This is Manuel here, the newby Spaniard. I said crazy on purpose, because that's what I thought we were last Thursday when I joined you for the first time ever...

I believed I was fit! But I've changed my mind. I struggled to be on track... The madness is completed by having 3 pints of beer. Then cycling home as a penguin and finally remove the mud of the bike to avoid it get dry. When I finished my shower and went to bed it was more than 1am. Perfect timing to get up early at the following day and deal with a class full of noisy children!
I must be as mad as you to want to came back! But I have to admit it, I love it!!!

I only have a little problem: there have been a mistake with the delivery of my lights and I've had to buy them again. Hopefully I'll have them next week, but I have no lights for tomorrow and I'm not sure what to do...

Re: Thank you!

I've got a spare Ayup light with a helmet mount which you could use tonight if you are happy with it zip-tied to your helmet.Battery should be ok for 2hrs or so should be ok if you havea a bacckup for the road bits.
