SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Festive themed ride. Tues 22nd

Hello.

Just a suggestion - but as the ride on tues 22nd is likely to be most people's last cammtb ride before christmas - how about some festive themed cycling gear/bike decorations?

To encourage you, I will personally fund a luxurious prize for the most festive - a beverage and bag of crisps of the winner's choice! terms and conditions apply

Anyone interested or should I keep a lid on these ideas of mine?

Re: Festive themed ride. Tues 22nd

that is a good idea, there have been some "interesting" themed rides in the past, why not a christmas one.

Re: Festive themed ride. Tues 22nd

Now Now Pat, that's enough of that.
Off to me brothers Tuesday A.M. so won't make it.

Re: Festive themed ride. Tues 22nd

Hit and miss if I can make it as poss will still be in Wales. Hope to be there with some tinsel in a prominent place

Re: Festive themed ride. Tues 22nd

I plan to be out on Tuesday - (Mother-in-law arriving that day but that's a coincidence)

I may come as a fairy but not sure that's any different to normal.
