SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Tonight

Just so I know I have beaten the mad rush to post today.
This evening I will mostly be baby sitting and not riding

Re: Tonight

Total catalog of disasters last night. Started with 6 out. 1. major car accident in front of us (total write off no one hurt) on the Fulbourn hill going to the start of the roman road, half hour stop as we were all first on the scene. 2. Paul L fell off in front of a car 50 yards from the accident (luckily car was going v slow and just missed him) 3. Smashed up light down the roman road ST ...down to five of us as could not continue with no light. 4. Claire's seat post sunk, Claire went home, down to four of us. 5. Andy W could not get his feet out of his clips and his handlebars decided to embed themselves in my rear wheel and careful angled retraction was necessary to save spokes and disk. 6. Once in the pub, the local pub dog decided to piss on Andy W 7. I was left in the pub with three lightweights, Paul L was not drinking, Andy W was on halves and Errol actually could not tell us "what" he was drinking 8.When I got home no one had fed the cats !!!

Seems like it could be worth sharing on Face book?
