SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Slovakia

Dear Sir/Madam

We have recently set up a mountain biking holiday company in Slovakia offering all inclusive cycling breaks.

Being British Cycling members and MTB leadership trained I wanted to offer all members of British Cycling the opportunity to visit Slovakia, a nation of cyclists with amazing mountains and trails which is as yet a bit of an undiscovered treasure in the middle of Europe.

As well as the holidays offered on our website: mtbslovakia.com , we are able to offer training and race entry for any competitors wanting to compete overseas and can help arrange trips for larger groups if clubs are interested in exploring some of Slovakia.

I would be grateful if you could take the time to look at our website and if you think your club members might be interested, to pass on our details to them.

Many thanks in advance

Mark Annett
