SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.
  • Don't ride too close to the person in front. If they crash into a badger, you'll need time to swerve.

Chris M Leaving

Hey, Chris M is leaving us for colder muddier trails, me thinks a CAMMTB ride should end at his local curry house ??? Chris lets have a date ?

Re: Chris M Leaving

You realise your boiler service is overdue and I/Vaillant will not warrant your boiler any longer unless you have it serviced and pay for the engineers curry.
P. S. You'll need more light bulbs in winter up there.

Sorry Should have read.... Pay for the service AND the engineers curry!

P. S. Nicola won't accept the Queens coinage anymore so you'll have to move to Carlisle......no, me neither.

Re: Chris M Leaving

What's the thing with the latex tube???? soooo 2001 darling!

Re: Chris M Leaving

.... dont get me started ....... darling !!

Re: Chris M Leaving

Not for me I am afraid, I don't like anything out of an Indian, if it had been a Chinese, I would have been there ;)

Re: Chris M Leaving

I'll be up for a curry. Unless it's when I'm in India.

Re: Chris M Leaving

Do we have a date for this yet?

Re: Chris M Leaving

So we're leaving on the 28th, so Thursday 23rd?

Re: Chris M Leaving

This is all a bit sudden, Chris, are you sure that you've thought this through properly?

I've a feeling that people outside of the Cambridge area may not be as sarcastic as us and that surely is a reason to stay.

Anyway, next Thursday is good for me.

Re: Chris M Leaving

UPDATE...... Chris has asked for his leaving do to be at the pub on the runs list, The Red Lion Histon, on 23rd of Feb.

No Curry just plenty of beer and snacks :)

Lets give the old man a good send off
