SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.
  • Don't ride too close to the person in front. If they crash into a badger, you'll need time to swerve.

Runs list w/c 6th November - Up North?

Seems the FLR is hybernating, can I suggest a stop at Quy? The rides rarely ventured north this year due to deeply rooted prejudiced against the Fenlandists, and on the rare occasion that they did I missed them because of america, so this is a chance to balance the north : south divide ! Also - how about Horningsea on Thursday?...........lovely pub with a good chip

Re: Runs list w/c 6th November - Up North?

Hi Adrian

Suits me as I am running a temperature at mo. so not out for a while.

Hopefully the RLF will awake from his slumbers and produce a list soon.

Re: Runs list w/c 6th November - Up North?

I think the RLF is working her arse off promoting a realitivly easy way to diagnose our many health issues.
I'm with Pete, When we get over the northern bog snorkeling, let me know and I'll make an effort to come out. When was the last time we went to Hardwick? Arrington? Etc

Re: Runs list w/c 6th November - Up North?

Hardwick? Couple of weeks ago.

The RFL has spoken so please discard my original comment. Alas I shall not be joining this evening, not acclimatized to such southern destinations.
