SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.
  • Don't ride too close to the person in front. If they crash into a badger, you'll need time to swerve.

Carbon fibre repairs.

So I have been talking about this for a few weeks now.
I have done quite a bit of resurch and listened to recommendations.

I found this blog
http://forum.errl.org.uk/entry.php?356-Repairing-Carbon-Fibre-HQ-Fibre-Products

And it told me everything I needed to know.

I have been recommended HQ Fiber Products by Rutland Cycles in Histon, and this is in fact Scott bikes go to place for repairs in the UK.

I have information on two others but during my resurch both had comments about bikes being in for repair for over a year and still not returned.

HQ told me about 2 weeks and I think he said £126 for new B.B. inserts and return post.

I will be sending in for repair in the next couple of weeks and will update you on how it goes.

Forgot to mention, HQ is just outside Norwich, so not a long drive if you don’t trust the postal services with your pride and joy.

Hi Pat
This company is highly regarded in the TT world. Definitely recommend them. I’m told if you visit dont be put off by the shed type appearance!
