SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Mean Gran?

My Gran is quite nice actually - a little confused of late (apparently my name is Chris) but that is par for the course.

Anyway - I am planning on riding tmrw, stopping at the pub in Grantchester, hopefully see some familiar faces after a bit of an absence. Apparently some water might fall from the sky, which might be an interesting experience.

Marvelousness

Re:

Having just taken an Information Security Refresher with work - I will NOT open that mystery link. May be over cautious but it seems a bit bizarre. Any more context Phil?

Anyhow, who is out this eve? should be some lovely fresh air after the rain :-)

Re: Re:

Hi Chris - I'm planning to be out.

I may have to go gently for the first hour as I gave blood yesterday at 8pm and was told to take things non-strenuous for 24h.

Anyhoo, hope to see you there.

Re:

Hi Phil,

I can remove it, but where is the link on the website, please?

Tom

Re: Mean Gran?

Was going to be out tonight but looks like the rain is set to stay so will give it a miss unfortunately.
