SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.
  • Don't ride too close to the person in front. If they crash into a badger, you'll need time to swerve.

this is the end.............beautiful the end

Tomorrow at 9ish , you will be taken from these ....chalkey fields and demolished. I, as a Barritonion shall be there... BUT does anyone fancy a wimpole coffee after? This epic...again for me and others. Cement production started in the early 1900's then in 1962 a new super dooper kiln was built..after the really bad winter shepreth closed and it was all down to the new cutting edge no.4 . over the years they burn't some...ahem interseting fuels then in 08 Cemex (imagaine a mexican feller with a knowledge of modern quarries called it a day.
In 2017 by one vote it was agreed 240ish houses would be built on the site TBH it's not the end of the world . I Believe there will be an opening..ahem for us to explore.
Anyway Thursday 20th...is a big Barritonion calender date.

Have a good one..I'll try too

Re: this is the end.............beautiful the end

Hoping to be out. I assume its Barrington tonight?

Re: this is the end.............beautiful the end

Errrrrr-thought it was Blue Ball tonight, anyone care to confirm?

Re: this is the end.............beautiful the end

Good job I just checked runs list. It’s Blue Ball Granchester tonight (thurs 20th)

Re: this is the end.............beautiful the end

As far as I am concerned the end is at the Blue Ball

The end
Of our elaborate plans, the end
Of everything that stands, the end
No safety or surprise, the end
I'll never look into your eyes again

Can you picture what will be?
So limitless and free
Desperately in need
Of some stranger's hand
In a desperate land

Lost in a Roman wilderness of pain
And all the children are insane
All the children are insane
Waiting for the summer rain, yeah

Re: this is the end.............beautiful the end

I'm not a poet, but will be out tonight.

Re: this is the end.............beautiful the end

I'm not a poet either, although I am an artist of sorts.

I should be out.

Re: this is the end.............beautiful the end

I'd like to thank Jim Chapman and suggest he doesn't take a bath in a french capital soon!?!....or in fact, my mon Amie, tu as un air boueux, pourquoi prendre un bain, elle est une bouteille de quelque chose.
p.s. They tend not to hold their noses in France.
oh yes, and keep yer fingers out of the butter!
