SAFETY BRIEFING.

Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Fendango 2019 - Feb 23 - 50 miles of mud, scones and ale

Hello - Fendango sign up emails just sent, please sign up fast if planning to attend - an extract below

"This year's course is pretty sensational, the first half features a long slog north out of cambridge followed by a right hand turn below the col de wilburton and then a very creative route into Ely. The second half will depend on the conditions, but will likely include the barway off camber bonanza and a few off-piste sections back towards Waterbeach. There will be a coffee stop each half so those doing the first half get to enjoy the Fenduro cafe camaraderie. Fendango next sat, final efent email just sent.

Sad to report that top Fenduro athlete Duncano Cook has withdrawn due to bad organization. Will need to find another source of constant nonsense.

It is genuinely a nice course this year, I actually had fun doing the final checks today. Hope to see some of you there!

Just sent you the fendango sign up email, feel free to come along - its free, sociable and fairly stupid. That said, this year's course is actually enjoyable. A departure from the usual misery fest format.

Excellent ride Adriano. Great scones, great beer, great weather. Those of you that stayed at home to do the hoovering missed a treat.

Don't knock hoovering until you've tried it.

Glad you had a good time - had ale and sausages at Sutton Gault instead - big skies there!
