SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Quyte a nice evening for a ride - who is out?

A local ride for local people! I am free and interested. Who else is out?

Re: Quyte a nice evening for a ride - who is out?

I think i'm up for it!

Re: Quyte a nice evening for a ride - who is out?

Hi pal, I will be joining at el pubo. Work dragging....garr!!

Re: Quyte a nice evening for a ride - who is out?

It's just me here, waiting for no-one to turn up. I'm working super early tomorrow, so wasn't stopping at the pub anyway.

Anyway, no worries, I understand the work thing (i've been doing some here while waiting for you), but i'm going to head home via a semi-westward route.

You'll have to be bored by tales of Pennine bikepacking at a later date!

Re: Quyte a nice evening for a ride - who is out?

Sorry norm! emailed you in advance but maybe fenduro stuff goes to spam. Mostly nonsense so its probs the best place for it! I did manage to get out of work by 8 and was on my bike by 8.30, did my usual powerhour route and got to the swan for a non-alcoholic ghost ship and some salted crisps by 9:30. A lovely pub. News of the pennine adventure shall have to wait!

Re: Quyte a nice evening for a ride - who is out?

Adriano, that's not fair... coaxing normal people out to fediiam then puyling the rug...mmmmmmm

Re: Quyte a nice evening for a ride - who is out?

I know I know - is there some kind of penalty to pay or blackmark now against my name. If so, is it transferable to my american overlords?
