SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Histon? Beer Festival?

Is it Histon beer festival tonight?

Hope to be out if I can escape work on time.

Re: Histon? Beer Festival?

Yes it is! I think I have a route in mind which will get us there with a bit more pub and pork pie time.

I'll be biking in from home, in case they have some tasty beers.

I plan to be out tonight-Mmmmmmm-forgot about the pork pies-much nommage

Re: Histon? Beer Festival?

Planning to be out, and looking forward to quick route to beer festival, and those pies. Hopefully wont need a dust :mask: like on tuesday

Re: Histon? Beer Festival?

I'm thinking:-

Grantchester
Roman Hill to Barton
Out toward Comberton then turn right and over the hill to Coton
Coton, Madingley USA Cemetary down the hill and out to near Girton College
Either - turn left, through Girton, back way across the fields to Histon (like a few weeks ago with Adriano)
OR - turn right, follow Tony across the old Niab fields/new development, out onto the Histon Rd and into Histon (a bit shorter)
