SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

ride this Sunday - 15th Sept. Rich Mills Return

Hi Guys,
so you may have noticed in the F.B. group that Richard is back in the UK for the day on Sunday.
i'm planning to meet up with him and i'm lending him my slow bike.... like that would stop him ;)
he is planning to be in town for mid morning so im thinking about 11 am to be safe as a meet up time.
we are after a gentle ride as he will be jet-lagged and i'm just not ready for a fast ride at the moment.

i'm thinking something like a normal thursday ride and finishing at the Green Man in Granchester..... but i'm open to suggestions.
might even try and put in a cafe stop somewhere..... but not sure where

any one else whant to join in?
