SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

The Tickell Arms, Whittlesford..... Tumbleweeds and MUD,MUD and more MUD

so it looks quiet on here at the moment, and as only 3 of us turned up last week and each expecting to be on our own i thought i would start things off.

it's Wittlesford tonight, unless no one else turns up, then it may be wherever i/we decide to go instead.... last week we were asked to remove our shoes in the Chequers in Orwell (in a change to the sheduled stop)

this week it has rained .... A LOT so i suspect there will be as much, if not more, mud than last week.

If Sam comes along again he should have a new seatpost to break ;) (there is a nomination in the tracker for that and i have photos of the fix/bodge)

anyone else up for a ... challenging ride tonight?

I'm hoping to be out. I'm still covered in the mud from two weeks ago, or at least my Camelbak is.

I'm planning to be out tonight

Re: The Tickell Arms, Whittlesford..... Tumbleweeds and MUD,MUD and more MUD

I hope to be riding, if for no other reason than to allow the rain to wash the mud off my bike!

Re: The Tickell Arms, Whittlesford..... Tumbleweeds and MUD,MUD and more MUD

I`ll be out.

I've just grabbed myself a replacement bolt, if I manage to re-attach my saddle in time then I'll be out!
