DISCLAIMER. MOUNTAIN BIKING CAN BE DANGEROUS. YOU JOIN US AT YOUR OWN RISK.

SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Re: They think it's all Over...

Hi Simon and Peter,

Yes, you can park near me - I'm at 2 Hemington Close, Over, CB24 5LX. In case parking is tight here, you might be better at the Over Community Centre, postcode CB24 5NW.

Plan is to ride into Cambridge along the busway then ride up to Conington via Coton, Madingley, Dry Drayton, Bar Hill, Lolworth and Boxworth.

I will aim to start riding no later than 6:35 pm. You can message me so we can meet up.

The pub at Conington is open but bring beer with you just in case! When we reach Conington we can choose next steps, but I have a nice riverside track for you, avoiding THE chute, but taking in one other mini chute and a badger.

Best regards

PT

Re: They think it's all Over...

Thanks Tom. See you at Over, 6:30

I'm in, see you at Brookside at 7:30.

Re: They think it's all Over...

Hi Tom (& Simon)

I've decided to ride to the start having run a bit short of time (where does it go?)

See you later

Pete

Re: They think it's all Over...

No epics for me for a while, mini or otherwise. I will ride to the shop in a bit for some milk. I will open the Skinny Arms later, about 10 to see if anyone bites
