SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Thursday 6th

Anyone have any plans for tonight? I have a route over where Norman was going earlier in the year which skirts Papworth

i.e. Cambridge->Bourne->Cambourne->Elsworth->Hilton->Graveley->Yelling->Eltisley->Bourne->Cambridge

It is 60k but fairly fast rolling and there are a few road sections so very happy to do something else but the weather looks fantastic again this evening.

Re: Thursday 6th

Corli and myself are planning to be out.

Re: Thursday 6th

I'd be up for anything, but don't want to be back too late. We're driving up to Scotland early tomorrow morning to get the kids started on Munro bagging while the weather is good.

Re: Thursday 6th

Do you have a pub stop in mind, Richard?

A bit like Norman, I don't want to be too late, but I'll give it a go and we can flex if needed.

Cheers,

TOM

Re: Thursday 6th

Sounds good Richard. See you at Brookside

60K? No skimping on dinner portions then

Re: Thursday 6th

I'll have a look at alternative routes as the 60k will be too long for a 7:30 start if people don't want to be too late
