SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

This weeks desinations

After last Thursdays intense Runs List meeting in The Queens head (before been chucked out early doors!)
Tonight is the Blue Ball, Grantchester & Thursday The Little rose in Haslingfield which we havn't been to for about 15 years... It is a free house under new ownership./management with 3 ales (according to website)....So worth another go!
I'm not out tonight but hope to be Thursday.

Re: This weeks desinations

Mmmmm,
Just looked at the blue ball website and they are not open Monday or Tuesday.....
I think we need a rethink for Tuesdays!

Re: This weeks desinations

Hi Duncan,

Do you have the full list so I can publish? And have you sent it to Paul for his view?

Tom

Re: This weeks desinations

I have the list but we need to rethink Tuesdays , If we make this decision I will forward list to Paul.
Anyone have any thoughts of a very near to Cambridge Pub that would be this winters Tuesdays pub of choice?
The beer in the Red Lion Grantchester is pretty bad...I left half a pint on the table last time I was in there!

Re: This weeks desinations

WHAT??!! You left beer behind? It must be bad. :)

Re: This weeks desinations

Isn't the desi nation always India?

Re: This weeks desinations

There was talk of the Plough at Coton being a Tuesday nighter
