It is with great sadness that we report that Johnny Weaver has passed away today at his home in Charlotte N.C.
When co-workers of his noticed he was not at work Friday morning, they called his house. After hearing no response they went to his house to find him dead. Although autopsy examination is forthcoming, he is initially believed to have died from natural causes.
ACW and all it's staff, wrestlers and fans would like to give our heartfelt condolences to the friends and family of Johnny, he may be gone but will NEVER be forgotten.

It is with great sadness that I sit in front of my computer and write a reply to this announcement. I remember as a little boy watching old wrestling videos with my father of Johnny Weaver applying his famous sleeper hold. I had the privilege of meeting Johnny on a show back in November and I felt like that same little boy again just looking at Johnny made me feel like I was good enough to be in the locker room with him. One thing is for sure the world's lost a great soul but heaven's gained one hell of a wrestler. RIP Johnny you will be sadly missed.
