Buxton

I'm sure that 99% of those who visit here also visit the official site. So, without spoiling anything, to see that the full band are playing in Buxton in February is great news indeed!!

I've also booked to see 'the frantic four' in Manchester Apollo this morning. This is a miracle, because I never thought the original band would reform, especially after legal battles etc etc etc. I loved the original lineup. It was my age lol. To see them again will be another dream come true.

Re: Buxton

Pete, sorry if I'm a bit dim (or just dim)but what or who is the Frantic Four? And who is the Joe matera mentioned on the official site? Is he anything to do with Steve?

the frantic four

We are are delighted to announce that Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Alan Lancaster and John Coghlan, the original line-up of the mighty Status Quo, are reforming for a one-off, never to be repeated series of UK dates in March 2013.

Status Quo manager Simon Porter said, “People have wanted this announcement to be made for years, and here it is. This is a real moment in the chequered history of Status Quo and it comes after almost 30 years of acrimony, and 10 years of law suits and court battles. Just 2 years ago the thought of the Frantic Four performing again was unthinkable. Now, 50 years on from when Francis and Alan first performed together as schoolboys, it is fitting that everything has come full circle for these unique one-off shows.”

This series of dates truly is a one off – Status Quo are now, and remain, Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt, Andy Bown, John ‘Rhino’ Edwards and Matt Letley – so fans need to be sure that they do not miss out.

Re: Buxton

Joe Matera is one of Steve Harley's friends, and is featured in the links section of the official site. Check him out!

The Frantic Four are the original members of Status Quo. I have no time for the current (longstanding) line-up, or their poppy drivel, but those early albums, and performances are special to me. The three chord boogie merchants (not strictly true) were not the most technically gifted band in the world, but when I was growing up, I was a fan. I moved on to better things, but I still have a soft spot for those old albums, and the good times they represent. Live, they were loud, frantic and bloody entertaining!
