I was thinking today how amazingly fortunate we are, when literally hundreds of acts from the 1970s have fallen by the wayside, no longer perform or if they do, can just about manage to pull in a crowd of about 100 to an end-of-pier show we, who have been captivated by Cockney Rebel (initially quite an obscure band) for some 40 odd years, have the incredible privilege this weekend to see the great man himself play THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL to a full house with orchestra and choir.
This must be one, if not THE pinnacle of Steve's career and when he walks out on that stage on Saturday I reckon that audience needs to give that man the standing ovation of a lifetime!
