Looking for info re My Uncle who died 1939 Palestine

My Uncle, Private Arthur Haynes died in 1939, he was serving in Palestine as part of the 1st Battallion South Staffs regiment, i would love to know more about what they were doing there, what life would have been like for them, etc. Any info gladly received!
