SAFETY BRIEFING.
- Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
- Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
- Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
- When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
- Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
- Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
- Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Unless things change, I'm due to go to Swavesey Village College open evening with my son this evening so I've had to cancel my cycling (
)
What I wanted to do was to canvass folks upon their preferred dates for the Xmas meal - 14th or 16th December.
Personally, I prefer the 16th (Thursday) because it's closer to the weekend and I don't mind staying out so late. What are your preferences? We'll go with the majority, unless the majority says Tuesday 
Once we know the date, we can book a suitable pub.

i can make either day at this stage.
I'll be out ridinig tonight - Thursday works best for G and I, and the Castle is a 5 min walk from our house so it gets our vote as well
well in that case my preference is thursday
