SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Lost and Found

as i was leaving the pub last night i found a top quality piece of cycling equipment under the back wheel of my bike, before i rode over it.

it is the black with green writing MBR buff, or if it is Duncan's the MBR dress.

if you lost it let me know and i will return it next time i'm out......2 weeks time due to WS3.

oh yes, it has been washed.

Re: Lost and Found

I thought this was going to be along the lines of 'Paul's legs'...

Hindsight is a wonderful thing - 33 miles in winter when you haven't ridden much for 2 months and were ill the week before is a VERY bad thing. I grovelled home - not sure how long it took but it must have been the best part of a hour for the ten miles.

Still, thanks to Duncan and Tom for support and I'll be back!

Re: Lost and Found

I was thinking it might be along the line of "Paul's bag" - it would have been its first wash too!
