SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

The Big Adventure Mark II - The results

Congratulations to Pasty Tom and Tony who used their recently honed Polaris skills to wipe the floor with the opposition and emerge as clear winners of the event.

Not only did they manage to accumulate more points than everyone else, they also turned the event into a double pub stop evening and extract change from the landlord at the Red House. Well done Tom and Tony, your wine is in the post...

Well done to everyone else who took part, hopefully you all enjoyed yourselves. Ali/Nige next time we will include points for a photographing of a Lagonda! Not sure about the BMX stunts though...

Re: The Big Adventure Mark II - The results

Not only did we get the change, we got beer!

May I suggest donning moustaches and wandering in tomorrow night saying "Did two blokes with impressive helmets come in here last Thursday?"

(that joke would have worked better if the runslist hadn't changed...oh well.)

Thanks again to Paul for running a great event. You can carry on if you like!
