SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Anyone riding the Roman Road tomorrow? (Sunday)

And feel like doing my other half a favour? Jane ran a horse ride from Gt Abington today but didn't have time to remove the way marks at the end of the day. She's also been kicked by a horse and is too crocked to cycle round herself tomorrow to remove all the bits of orange tape... I can't do it as I'm 350 miles away, so she wondered if anyone from CamMTB was heading out that way and would mind removing the stuff.

The route is from Grange Farm, Gt Abington, down to the Roman Road, then out to Gunners Hall on the farm track that parallels the RR, back onto the RR, past Borley Wood then down to Linton on the Bridleway, back up Rivey Hill to the Roman Road and head back to Grange Farm. 16 miles loop from Grange Farm.

If anyone can help and/or needs the route map, give her a call on 07747874071 or email her on jg10018 @ cam.ac.uk (minus the spaces of course).

Cheers

Paul

Hi Paul - hope all is well with you.

Couldn't do this today, but could tomorrow if it's not already done? I'll ping Jane.

Cheers
