SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Can I join you Tuesday?

Hi,
I'm training to do the SDW 100 in August and need to seriously improve my fitness levels.
I have the bike and the lights, so would it be okay if I join you tomorrow (Tuesday)?
Cheers,
Mike

Re: Can I join you Tuesday?

Hi Mike,
Please come along... the more the merrier !!

Re: Can I join you Tuesday?

Excellent, thanks.
I'll be the one on the retro Kona Explosif with Pace RC36s.
See you at 7.30pm,
Mike

Re: Can I join you Tuesday?

Guys,
Thanks for letting me join you last night. Despite the fast pace I enjoyed it, and managed not to get lost on the way home. That pint of Wellington helped me get over Cracknow Hill in record time!
I hope to make it out next week, probably Thursday, although 'It ain't over till it's over' sounds a bit daunting.
Cheers,
Mike

Re: Can I join you Tuesday?

Hi Mike

Good to see you last night and glad to hear you made in back OK.

Last night was probably at the faster end of the spectrum for rides so I'm sure you will have no problems with "It ain't over til its Over." Although it might be a longish ride home from the pub!

Hopefully see you next week.

Cheers,
Paul
