SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Pat makes a splash

Comedy event of the year as Pat goes for total immersion in Little Wilbraham Water.

Re: Pat makes a splash

Judging By the amount of wet clothes I have just put in the washing machine the river is more than waist deep where I landed.
Lake boots are not waterproof to more than 3feet of immersion, and waterproof shorts just keep the water in!
So who else has ridden along next to a brook, stream or river and thought.....I wonder what it would be like to fall in there? The answer is bloody cold and wet! Don't do it!

Re: Pat makes a splash

"Lake Boots".....tee hee!

Re: Pat makes a splash

so was this on the way to the pub or on the way home....

Did you catch the moment on helmet cam...

Re: Pat makes a splash

It was on the way to the pub, so no excuses about alcohol.About 3miles out and 2 punctures from the pub.
Sadly no I did not have the camera on, but Tom may have a good pic for the forum.

Re: Pat makes a splash

I'm afraid my tractor beam of death might have had something to do with it, that's 3 nights in a row :()
