DISCLAIMER. MOUNTAIN BIKING CAN BE DANGEROUS. YOU JOIN US AT YOUR OWN RISK.

SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Sunday CCC MTB ride from the Hospital

Hi all,
Please don't forget this Sundays ride to the Mocha Cafe in Saffron Walden, pace will be slower than evening rides and expect to do 40-45ish miles (although if you want to do more I'm more than happy to extend it)
Meet at the usual Cam cycling Club starting point (bus stop at Addenbrookes)
9 a.m.
Let's show those roadie types were king of the hill, yah, Barrington hill, fulbourn hill, Rowley hill, Cracknell hill, Velcro hill, Wimpole hill, those up & downy bits around the belts, that quite big one near Gt. Chesterford, the foot bridge at Babraham, Newmarket road roundabout steps, in fact all the 'kin hills... We're mountain bikers don't you know.... Hussars!?!
P.S. You won't need lights..... well slap my thighs, even more joy !!

Re: Sunday CCC MTB ride from the Hospital

Dusk til Dawn finishes at 8am. That gives us an hour to get back to Addenbrookes.
Should be manageable if traffic on the A11/A14 is light.

Yeah right!

zzzzz
