SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Nerdy light question

Does anyone have any experience of Serfas lights? Have come across a 'true' 1500 lumen light at a relatively good price - any views (hopefully quite good views with the aid of 1500 lumens)

Re: Nerdy light question

I think this is what Ade has - also Paul l has one for commuting. Ade really likes it but he only uses it for commuting. It charges from USB which is handy.
Suspect ades is a lower output than the one you are talking about. (just checked his is only 150 lumen!)

Re: Nerdy light question

Seems that, as you cycle through light intensity settings, you also hit "off"! I'd say that's a deal breaker for me. I'd like to be able to adjust intensity without being blind for a while.
