SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Tonight

Could someone let me know where you are planning on heading tonight, as I want to come out but Ade won't be home in time so I am going to try and meet you in the pub.

Re: Tonight

I plan to be out but it doesn't look like the train out bike back option is very appealing today. Anybody? No? How about a pub?

Re: Tonight

i'm up for a bike ride tonight.
might be a push to get to the station if that is the preferred option, but not ruling it out.
no preference on route / pub but i's fairly dry, Redhouse?

Re: Tonight

Any chance of somewhere a teeny bit nearer town? Its more than 15 miles from Longstowe to my house, so I will be riding 30 miles before I do any offroad diversions

Re: Tonight

I'm growing quite partial to the Three Horseshoes in Stapleford....

Re: Tonight

looks as if you are leading tonight Tony, so choice of pubs is yours.
i just suggested Longstowe as a possible "epic" but just being out anywhere is fine by me..... as long as it is not the wagon and horses in Milton......that place is just creepy now!

Re: Tonight

So, what's the deal with tonight... Would we be meeting in the usual place then?

- Matt

Re: Tonight

I am up for it !!!

Re: Tonight

Tony, can you text me where you are planning on going then?

Sounds like the plan to get train out is off Matt, so I am guessing usual place?

Re: Tonight

Three Horseshoes in Stapleford by way of the mountains in the south somewhere, meet at Brookside
