SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

And me! And me!

Dom! And Alison!

We'll be 'doing a Dom' from the pub. Anyone got a route in mind?

Re: Milton Tonight

and me!

could have a route but what about a pub? Recent conversations have suggested that the Waggon isn't what it was. Any other suggestions? Jolly Brewers?(never been). Happy to stick to Milton though as I have got to be up early and shouldn't stay in the pub too late...

Re: Milton Tonight

Yes, planning to ride tonight. Happy to try a different pub, as per Tony's comments about W&H. The Joller Brewers is a bit more upmarket these days but probably OK. The White Horse has tables outside at front and back and always has a good selection of beer, so that would get my vote :0)

Re: Milton Tonight

The Jolly Brewers looks good - good beer and a beer garden. It's getting mostly good reviews since it reopened - gets my vote.

So, you're in charge of directions, Bony! I'll make sure I've got twelve hours of lights battery available...

Dom

Re: Milton Tonight

Yep, White Horse would be fine too.

Re: Milton Tonight

No need for the batteries Dom, your navigation services will not be required.

Re: Milton Tonight

i shall be along for a bimble tonight, and with luck i will be able to stop withought causing any dammage to hearing.

i can't stop too long at the pub as i need to be at work for 6am tomorrow!

but as it is so close to home 1 pint can't hurt

Re: Milton Tonight
