SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

3 Horseshoes

I am planning to ride tonight.

Re: 3 Horseshoes

It has just taken me forever to get into work against the wind.

This week I have been overtaken by old people and small children. My 4 year old told me to hurry up as I was a "slowcoach" when cycling to school today.

So I'm coming out, but I might not be very fast!

Re: 3 Horseshoes

I'll be there !

Re: 3 Horseshoes

I reckon I might come out tonight, been a while!

Re: 3 Horseshoes

Don't worry Claire, you can take comfort in the fact that you will never be as slow as me!
This will be demonstrated ce soir

Re: 3 Horseshoes

I'll be out. Neil, what is that emoticon? It looks like a cartoon fart cloud.

Re: 3 Horseshoes

Nice, thanks for that image Tony. I am going to try and ride far away from NSN Neil tonight.

Re: 3 Horseshoes

Honestly it takes seconds for the forum to resort to fart gags *snigger*

It was meant to represent wind but failed miserably.

Re: 3 Horseshoes

It's ok Claire, none of this this evening!

Re: 3 Horseshoes

Hi All,

I'm expecting to be out, providing I can stay downwind of Neil.

Re: 3 Horseshoes

I presume you want to be upwind, unless you're a bit sick?

Re: 3 Horseshoes

I'll be out, although I still haven't fully got the feeling back in my hands since riding the dusk til dawn with a rigid fork.

Re: 3 Horseshoes

Yep, I'm a coming out ..... actually that sounds a bit wrong

Re: 3 Horseshoes

You're a coming out, eh?

Re: 3 Horseshoes

right, contrary to earlier postings - I might not actually be out tonight - The ole' devil of work being a bit mad late this afternoon...

If i'm there, i'm there, but don't wait for me !

Re: 3 Horseshoes

Hi Tom,

Not tonight. Its way too windy for my liking, plus I've had a bit of a full on day.

Hope you all get an enjoyable ride (if you like being windswept..)

Cheers

Pete

Re: 3 Horseshoes

Well spotted, Jason.

I am, indeed, sick.

Re: 3 Horseshoes

I'm out tonight, waiting for train at Ely.
