SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Harlton Woods

after spending about an hour and a half in the woods last night, i am pleased to say that the singletrack is open for business again.
i have cleared a lot of the fallen and dangerous branches at the quary end of the track, and opened things up a bit around the big fallen tree, it is not as flowing as it was, but it will get there with use. At the moment it is more technical but ride able.
i have also been through the bomb hole and improved the flow so you can now go to the left of the tree half way down between jump 1 and jump 2, should stop so many people getting lost in there, including me.

if you find the fence at the stiles top and bottom removed, that is nothing to do with me.

enjoy
