SAFETY BRIEFING.

Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Preventing Spam

Hi All,

It won't have escaped your notice that a persistent spam-bot has been targetting our forum recently and getting through the spam filter.

I have now banned all three of the IP addresses that it has been using and, once I find a PC with the right browser on it (IE9 or better) I will delete the current crop of spam.

Regrettably, I have had to turn on image-verification so, for now, you will have to go through this extra stage each time you post.

I'll give it a week or two before I review this. In the meantime, my apologies for the inconvenience that this may cause.

I used to be the Royal Shoemaker, at least until I put a sign up saying "Cobblers to The Queen"....
