SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Pants! (tonight (Thurs))

Hello,

I have been nominated to organise a bike ride while wearing underwear on the outside! By these guys http://www.the99project.org/#!donate/c1ghi. It is in aid of Alzeimer's research.

I was wondering if people would agree to do it with me tonight. I thought since everyone enjoyed dressing up as women for Anna's hen do all the time ago, we might want to do it in Ladies undies? Perhaps you could borrow some from your other half? Or could do it in guys underwear as well.....doesn't matter.

I think we can get away with just doing it for a photo op and not riding in them all night.

And the donation bit is Donate £5 by texting DEFY to 70099 or go to https://www.justgiving.com/the99project

Please guys, I know you are always up for making a fool of yourselves!

Claire,

Katie says if I want to borrow any of her underwear (again!) I'm not allowed to get it muddy, so I guess it'll have to be a pair of quality Y-fronts instead

Re: Pants! (tonight (Thurs))

Isn't it strange how everyone now has the name "guys", Fergs says it all the time when addressing groups of people.... Even on forest school last week the teacher was calling all the kids Guys....?!?
Think I prefer Ladies and Gentlemen or chaps at a stretch... Oh well can't stop "progress*
