SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

The Tamarind tomorrow night

Dear all

Tomorrow we are planning to commiserate with Jules on his impending departure from Cambridge back to the big smoke.

The plan is to meet as usual at Brookside, have a short ride ending at the Tamarind in Teversham and follow this with a curry and the usual beer drinking. If you are planning on riding and intend to eat could you please post and let me know.

Cheers,
Paul

Re: The Tamarind tomorrow night

Yes please!

Re: The Tamarind tomorrow night

Sadly we can't make it - a prior family engagement. Have a good one and don't eat too much curry, Jules!

Yes please Paul, although I may not make 7:30pm at Brookside so let me know what time you're aiming for the Tamarind.

Re: The Tamarind tomorrow night

I'm on annual leave this week, so I'm planning to ride and eat.

Re: The Tamarind tomorrow night

Hi Paul, Roughly how short will the ride be? I don't usually eat much lunch so I'm just wondering how much of a snack to have before I come out! Too much and I won't enjoy my curry, too little and I might run out of energy.

Re: The Tamarind tomorrow night

sorry Claire only just seen this. The plan is to be at the Tamarind between 9 and 9:15 so a relatively short ride. Jon M has a cunning plan!

Re: The Tamarind tomorrow night

Cheers Paul and all.

See you later.

Jules

Just for the curry, obviously.

I also intend to eat food with you tonight
