SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Dyke's End Reach

Due to kitchen fire, the pub opening hours are 6pm to 9pm. There is the White Swan at Quy, but this pub is on the runs list for next Thursday.

Re: Dyke's End Reach

Horningsea or Dullingham maybe, open to suggestions

Re: Dyke's End Reach

I'm either doing a Dom or riding home from the pub so I'd really like Horningsea. Either way, I could do with a decision! May I suggest we fix it on Horningsea - nice community pub worth supporting and with good beer!

Re: Dyke's End Reach

Andy has suggested something like Coton, Hardwick, Highfileds, Childerley Gate, Dry Drayton, Bar Hill, Oakington, Histon, Impington, Milton, Horningsea.

Alternatively, I can lead Addenbrookes, Roman Road, Fulbourn, Wilbraham, Swaffham Bulbeck, Commercial End, Lode, Anglesey Abbey, Horningsea. I'm not so sure of the first option! Carparks here we come!
