SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.
  • Don't ride too close to the person in front. If they crash into a badger, you'll need time to swerve.

Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

I noticed from the runs list that our Xmas party has been pencilled in for Tuesday 13th December, not Thursday 15th? I'm happy to check availability with the Maypole if that is the concensus, although the Punter has also been suggested, so I can check there as well, for comparison.

Unless, of course, someone else has already made enquiries?

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

I have no preference on location or date mentioned.

My wife has a party on 8th Dec so wouldn't make it if things need to move a week earlier due to availability of venue.

Still, I’m looking forward to the one arm bandit jokes at the compare’s expense.

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

R is in Holland 12th to the 14th so maybe a struggle for me?!?
Anyone know a decent baby/Lad sitter?!?

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

Hello.

Whilst not wanting to recreate another Hinxtongate - would a thursday party be preferable. This way people can let their hair down a little more. What say you all?

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

Is your office more receptive to hangovers on a Friday than on a Wednesday?

I've obviously only been to one so far but did someone not say last year that we alternate tues and thurs for the party?

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

My vote is for Thursday.

Thursday

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

Don't mind! Marginal preference for Thursday. Don't mind where either!

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

I have a slight preference for Thursday, but either day is fine for me.

Are we going to go to the maypole again, or is it pastures new this year ?

looking forward to it.

Crazy Andy strikes again!

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

I have saved both Tue and Thurs in the diary just in case :)

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

Paul, that Avatar is clearly not you, the hair is the wrong colour.

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

Either either!

Re: Xmas paaaarteeeeey!

So we're sticking with the Maypole, the majority seem to prefer Thursday but can anyone NOT do the Tuesday?
