SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Thank you to Richard

A big THANK YOU to Richard for organising tonights Christmas party.

It was a masterpiece, and the stickers were the icing on the cake. If only the glue was a bit stronger and I hadn't mixed mine up with Dom's; I've been picking nut roast out of my teeth all evening.

A happy Christmas to all!

Well said, and thank you Richard

Re: Thank you to Richard

Yes, cheers Richard, a very enjoyable evening, the food (and beer) was excellent and the stickers were a stroke of genius.

Re: Thank you to Richard

Yep, thanks Richard! A great evening with great company - and a 'thank you' to the Maypole as well for a good meal served efficiently and their great range of beer.

The stickers have set the bar high for next year. How about individual scrolling LED displays of name, menu choice and blood group for each place setting?

To those I don't see before - Merry Christmas and a Happpy New Year!
Dom

Re: Thank you to Richard

Cheers folks, glad it all went well and thanks Dom, Tom & Paul for the official entertainment!

A cracking meal from my point of view and the Maypole excelled themselves on the service this time. Maybe next year I'll do a formal seating plan and get the table-cloths pre-printed with everyone's menu choices
