SAFETY BRIEFING.

  • Wear a helmet. Despite recent advances in medical science, brains still cannot be mended nor replaced.
  • Wear gloves or mitts. Hands often hit the ground first. Cuts and grazes invite infection and a hospital visit.
  • Wear eye protection, it only takes a twig or thorn to lose an eye. Crud catchers are a good idea in mucky weather.
  • When downhilling, for your own protection, allow plenty of space behind the rider in front.
  • Bring a bare minimum emergency tool kit and a spare inner tube.
  • Breakdowns are a bore. Plan not to have any by ensuring your bike is in perfect working order.
  • Punctures are also tedious. You can minimise them by fitting latex tubes, slime tubes or running tubeless tyres.

Thursday's ride - May 23, specialist request for the Greenman.

Hi Pals.

In the absence of a formally issued runslist. May I request a greenman ride on thurs. I will be out and havent been there in ages! Plus may have a friend joining and its a nice pub for guests.

Happy to adapt to the groups preference.

The new runs list is awaiting deployment by the webmaster. If I recall the venue was the Queens Head in Newton, slightly further from the fens but not a bad venue for guests especially if they enjoy the odd malteser.

Having said that I’m happy with some strong and stable leadership to the Green Man if that is the will of the people.

The Queens head newton is indeed a fine pub. Lets not disrupt the runs list - and go there! sensational!
