Hi - having visited The Gambia many times, I'm planning on visiting Dakar/Goree Island in Feb. Just wondered what the best way to travel is - there will be 4 of us, including Gambians and wondered if cheaper to rent a car or go by bush taxi, taking into consideration amount of time travelling/cost. Do I also need visa - I didn't need one when travelling to Guinea by road through the Casamance a few years ago. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

One time I travelled we were also 4 in number. We hired a bushtaxi and paid for all seats, which made it quie comfortable for all of us.

Any idea how much that cost? Also, we are planning to stay in Senegal for a few days, so how would that work with the bush taxi?

Where in Senegal so you want to stay? You pass Mbour, there are Hotels and Lodges there, maybe the driver will stop for you.

I was in Dakar three times bur found the criminality in the streets at night a bit disgusting, whiles Goré Island is wonderful. I also enjoyed Casamance very much.
