Pleased to see that there are other people in the UK interested in this sport. Hoping to train up my GS puppy. He's already showing interest in chasing and bringing back the disc. The ridgies were never that keen!

A little concerned about some of the entries in the forum thou

Bonnie went to discdogs in kettering and absolutely loved it. Having never retrieved anything before - and only been in our home for 3 months with Paul's help we got her catching and bringing back discs and she LOVED it !!!

Both my dogs are rescues, Wills was returned to a local rescue at 2 1/2yrs because the families landlord wouldnt allow him, and Bonnie was taken to a vet to be pts age 18mths because she pulled on the lead too much.

Mim is a cross lurcher x ? possible gsd. Age 3. Addicted to frisbee catching since 4 months old. Lives for her frisbee and is lying next to it now having just been out. Wonderful nature, loves to run. Loves to be loved.

I was overjoyed at finding this site. I had thought about flyballing, but as Mim already does agility and she is really in her element chasing and catching her frisbee I am over the moon. Coming to Hitchen definitely. Hope to do KETTERING. Well done. Will promote at my clubs.

The one that doesn't do Discs is Bobby who's 14 1/2 and he's a Border Collie cross with possibly Terrier.

Neelix, as pictured on the main page is believed to be a Lurcher cross Terrier and he'll be four in September.

Millie, the Black Lab also on the main page, is my parents dog and she will be nine in October and she still chases the Disc.

Chakotay is a small Lurcher and will be two in October.

Both Neelix and Chakotay are rescue dogs, Neelix I got from Sheffield Dog rescue when he was one, and Chakotay came from Thornberry Animal Sanctuary when he was Ten months having spent the previous four months "behind bars" as his previous owners got rid of him at four months "because he was growing too big"

I'm hoping that one day, before Neelix, Millie and Chakotay get past it, there will be Disc Dog events around the UK as there is other dog events.

Just think of the different events that are around for dogs: Obedience, Agility, Flyball, Clever Dogs, Working Trials, Sledging, to name but a few: yet the one that is the easiest, most fun and least expensisve is still to make an impact here in the UK.

It's time to see people with the same enthuseasm as me, getting together and making it happen, so come on, what have you got to lose?
