My grandmother was Vesta Sevier Meek

My grandmother was a direct descendent of John Sevier. I was looking at your site and I’d like to correct some errors. My grandmother’s name was Vesta Sevier Meek. Her parents were William Blair Meek and Martha Powers Meek. She had a sister Iva Douglas Meek. Your site says Iva was her daughter—Iva Davis. That is incorrect. Vesta and Iva lived with my family and were part of my household. I knew them well. Iva never married so her last name was Meek. Vesta married Robert Benjamin Davis and they had one daughter, Iva Kathleen Davis. Every site I’ve seen has her name as Katherine. It was Kathleen. That was my mother. She married Edward Constance Nixon. They had two children, me Barbara Kathleen Nixon and James Edward Nixon. Please make the corrections to your site. My family had the book Notable Southern Families and everything is correct as far as I know except for my mother’s name. All the records I’ve seen have her name wrong. Thank you for putting this on the internet. The lineage is very interesting and one I am very proud of.

Knox and Hunter from Tennessee.

I\'ve heard from my mother\'s side Knox, that Sevier (Sever?) is somehow connected. I\'ve researched on ancestry and other sites and not able to confirm we are.There are hints only by narrative, but nothing definite. Has any Knox\'s or Hunter\'s found documentation or source that shows lineage?

Hiram Goad is my ancestor. Hiram may be the brother or Father of Joanna Goad that married Valentine Sevier. There may be 2 Hiram Goads father and son and I have difficulty determining which is which.
I have come across the Sevier connection on several occasions while doing research on Hiram.. i am very much a novice in the genealogy field.

My grandmother was Maude Elizabeth Sevier from Muskogee, OK. I know there is a link to Gov. John Sevier in Tenn, but I don\'t remember what it is. As my grandmother is now dead and her family records were not well kept, I don\'t have the story. I\'d love to see if anyone out there has some insight!

I noticed that you do not have the lineage for Joseph Sevier, who married a Cherokee named, Elizabeth Lowrey. they had a daughter, Eliza, who married W. Templin Ross. Their son was Andrew Wellington Ross, who\'s son was Robert Featherston Ross, who had my grandmother, Lena Ross, who married Felix Weaver.

I have the 1st edition of the Sevier book 1961 and the 1982 is out of print, will there be another printing? My father is in the 1st book Oscar W. Sevier son of John Z. Sevier and Sylvia Brock.
