What is your name?

David Brocklehurst

Who would you like to contact ?

Anyone who knew my father Sam Brocklehurst

Do you recognise anyone in the photos ?

No

Any Comments

Highly commendable website - well done!

Comments:

My father Sam Brocklehurst served in India & Burma during WW2. I understand he didn\'t return home until 1946, but I doubt if he served in Palestine. Typically, he never talked much of his experiences. From what I can establish he joined up either in the Royal Artillery or The Sherwood Foresters before becoming a Para. I bought him a Para tie which he wore frequently with great pride (and which I still have). Sadly he died fairly young and my best efforts have failed to learn more about his service career, although I believe he ended up as a Colour Sergeant. Any help in how to learn more would be much appreciated.

Helen Burton

Who would you like to contact ?

Anyone who knew Clive Burton

Do you recognise anyone in the photos ?

No

Any Comments

I need to know!

Comments:

My dead father's s Clive Burton, born Hull on 23or24/10/26. I believe he was conscripted then "volunteered" for the Para's. His regimental number is 14879122. We are led to believe he was in Palestine at the time of the King David Hotel bomb incident. Having watched a film called The Promise about the conflict I would love to speak to anyone who either knew my dad or was out there at the same time as the film has really made me think what he must have gone through and seen. Time is running out his contemaries of the time would now be very late 80's and I have so many questions to ask. Please help if you can. Any advice on how I can get a copy of his service record would be brilliant.
